Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge 2020

Are you up for the challenge?

For the last 5 years, local CIC, Adventure Based Learning, have organised the Y3P Challenge to raise funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.  The Greenfield based organisation not only donate all the entry fees to the Hospice but they give our supporters the opportunity to raise money for the care of patients and families here at Dr Kershaw’s.

Training Day 2:                     Saturday 13th June 2020


The Yorkshire Three Peaks walk is a challenging, full day hill/mountain walk in the Yorkshire Dales. This 24 mile circular walk, starts and finishes at the same place, your challenge is to complete the walk in 12 hours.

To complete the walk in 12 hours you should be in good physical condition and to help you prepare for this challenge, ABL offer two local training walks taking in the rugged hills and moorland of Saddleworth. 

Registration complete, Mark Hilton, Adventure Based Learning expert event lead and guide will give you all the help and advice you need to complete your challenge from fitness and kit to transport and accommodation.

What IS included?

  • Expert advice from Adventure Based Learning to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge.

What is NOT included?

  • Food and drinks.
    Bring your own & eat at the pub afterwards has been the norm in previous years.
  • Transport to and from the challenge event.
  • Pre and post walk accommodation.
    Accommodation on Friday and Saturday night is advised so the walk can start at 8.00am promptly and allow a time to rest after an 8pm finish. There are lots of options from hotels, to B&B’s to camping – the team at ABL will be able to advise you.
  • Walking equipment.
    ABL will give you their expert advice of equipment. They also have a limited amount of equipment available to hire/borrow.
