Meet our new Hospice Mascot, a loveable dog called Hartley.

Hartley stepped out of his kennel and made his first official appearance at our Summer Fayre on Sunday 30th July. He was called straight into action joining in with a flash mob and meeting The Mayor of Oldham, Zahid Chauhan!

Jill Kirkham, Community Fundraising Lead at Dr Kershaw’s, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new mascot, Hartley to the Hospice, he had a great time at his first ever event! He is really excited to be joining the team, meeting the children of the local community, and attending as many events during the year so that he can support our fundraising team. With his heart shaped nose and cheeky spirit, he’s sure to be popular at future fundraising events.”

Followers of our social media channels will have already seen an excited Hartley popping up around the Hospice, in the café, in the offices phoning his friends, in the gardens, helping to clean up around the Hospice, and welcoming the arrival of his mini-me - the Hartley plush toy.

Hartley is wagging his tail in anticipation, he can’t wait to meet the local community!
