The Dr Kershaw’s Bunny Hop sprung back this Easter, putting a spring in the step of our amazing fundraisers!

This Easter, pupils from local schools and nurseries across Oldham donned their bunny ears and put their best fundraising hop forward to raise money for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, in support of patient care.

The New Village Nursery, in Lees, St Chad’s CE Primary School in Uppermill, and St Anne’s CE Primary School in Royton collectively raised over £6,000 for Dr Kershaw's whilst having fun with their bunny activities.

A huge thank you to all the pupils, staff, and families for your incredible support and raising a fantastic amount for our patients. 

We hope you had a hippity hoppity happy bunny hop day! 

Bunny Hop 2023

Dr Kershaw’s Bunny Hop is a wonderfully inclusive experience. It supports a child’s well-being and helps develop a sense of being part of one big team, collectively working to engage with their local community. Plus you get to wear special bunny ears! 

How to Organise Your Bunny Hop

Your Bunny Hop can take place anytime around Easter, to suit your timetable, and you set the distance for the pupils to hop.

Once you sign up, each school/nursery will receive:

  • Free bunny ears for each child.
  • A sponsor form for each child - printed on an A5 peel and seal envelope so that collecting in the sponsor money is easy for both you and children and families taking part.
  • Graphics and templates to send out to children’s homes to let them know how you want them to take part. This will help to encourage sponsorship and explain why your support helps Dr Kershaw’s to continue to be here for those who need our care.
  • A Bunny Hop activity pack with photocopyable resources to use in classes and groups.
  • After the event, we will collect all sealed envelopes from you, count the donations received to avoid your need for money handling and confirm and celebrate with you your Bunny Hop success.

By taking part in the Bunny Hop you will be helping us care for local men and women who are living with a life limiting illness, giving them the specialist care they need to manage their symptoms and to be able to face the end of their lives with dignity and calm.
