The advice line is available seven days a week, 365 days a year and is manned by trained and experienced nursing staff.
It offers telephone access to a specialist nurse with experience of caring for people with serious illnesses. The service is available to patients, relatives or carers, and health care professionals involved in a patient's care. We can provide advice on pain control, symptom control and emotional support.
The advice line has clearly identified the need for our care to be out in the community. One caller who contacted us referred to us as a ‘life line not an advice line’.
