Patient Drivers

We work with a fantastic organisation HMR Circle, who coordinate volunteer drivers to support our patients.

Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to provide a door-to-door, flexible, transport service with passengers picked up from their own home and taken to the Hospice, with return journeys also provided. For each journey, a contribution is calculated at 45p per mile – to reimburse the driver for the cost of petrol and to support the costs of insuring and maintaining their vehicles.

If you have any questions or would like to register your interest, you can do so by emailing HMR Circle directly on mary@hmrcircle.org.uk

Specialist Roles

We have a number of specialist roles at the Hospice including patient facing roles, administrative support for various departments and videographers and photographers.

If you have a specific skillset that you feel Dr Kershaw's could benefit from, we would love to hear from you!

I’m interested, what do I do now?

Great! You can apply here.

If you’d like to know more about becoming a volunteer and supporting care at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice, please contact our Volunteer Team on volunteerdept@drkh.org.uk or 0161 624 2727.

Some roles at the Hospice are subject to a standard or enhanced DBS check due to contact with vulnerable people. Declaring that you have a criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from volunteering with us, but please be prepared to discuss this in confidence with us when you apply.
