Whether you’re looking for a good way to use some spare time or to develop your skills, volunteering for Dr Kershaw’s can be extremely rewarding… and fun! In return for your time, we’ll offer you training and support as well as invites to social events.
We can also provide you with a reference if you are job seeking or studying after you have volunteered for at least 6 months.

The Furniture Hub- We have a range of roles available at our Furniture Hub, including meeting and greeting, supporting customers and even in the back sorting goods and building furniture.

Café Assistant - We are looking for volunteers who can support, serving refreshments and being a friendly face. Initially the café will only be open to patients, their approved visitors and staff. Full training will be provided. Could you give a few hours of your time to add to the experience of our patients in our modern, relaxed café?

We are always looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting ad hoc at our events and as part of our Community Fundraising team.
Could you help transport our patients to their appointments with us? We are always recruiting for volunteers who are happy to use their own vehicles or have a D1 on their license and fancy driving our minibus.
Driver’s Mates – Can you take on this physically demanding role, collecting and delivering furniture to members of the public? Driver’s mates don’t need to be able to drive, but extra drivers are always welcome!

Some roles at the Hospice are subject to a standard or enhanced DBS check due to contact with vulnerable people. Declaring that you have a criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from volunteering with us, but please be prepared to discuss this in confidence with us when you apply.
