We have recently received an amazing gift of six Dyson Air Cool Fans from The Mailing Room, a mailing machine supplier in Bury, at a cost of over £2,000.
These specialist fans purify and cool the air, ensuring a comfortable atmosphere can be maintained in patient’s rooms when the temperatures rise. This means that the Hospice now has one fan for each of its twelve, state-of-the-art In-Patient Unit rooms.
Last week, The Mailing Room’s Managing Director, Mark Smith and Financial Director, Ged Taylor visited the Hospice for a tour of the In-Patient Unit.
Lindsey Harper, Dr Kershaw’s Lead Nurse for Clinical Services said: “During the rising temperatures we experienced last summer we found it very difficult to keep the environment cool for our patients and their loved ones. At that time, we had only six fans, which we had to move around with patients having to share. We are delighted that we now have enough fans for every patient should we experience high temperatures again this summer. We are so grateful to The Mailing Room for their generous donation, and know this will make a huge difference to the comfort of our patients.”
