Finance Officer

·         Do you have a recognised AAT qualification?

·         Do you have experience of business planning & costing?

·         Have you gained considerable experience of working in a financial environment – including the voluntary or charity sector?

·         Can you conduct analysis of management accounts?

·         Communicate with a wide range of people

·         Develop and monitor departmental budgets

·         Prepare people and financial plans which contribute to medium term strategy

·         Manage a small team, adapting to changing priorities and juggling multiple tasks

 

Dr Kershaw’s is looking for you.

Dr Kershaw’s is an independent Hospice serving the people of Oldham and surrounding districts and a registered charity. At Dr Kershaw’s patients are at the heart of everything we do. Since 1989, our mission has been to add quality to the lives of those with a life limiting illness.

The Finance Officer plays a major part of managing our income and expenditure, whilst both supporting the Director of Finance and developing the Finance team, ensuring smooth running of the finance function.  Our plans for the next 5 years to meet our strategic objectives include further growth following the construction of a new In-Patient Unit, and we are also looking to develop our support in the community and increase our services on site at the Hospice.

To achieve all this, we need enthusiastic, self-motivated and pro-active people who are focused, with an attention to detail and who share our values.

 

This is a permanent role.

Salary: £ 23, 671 to £ 29, 320 (dependent on experience)

Hours: Full time -  37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

Community Engagement Co-Ordinator

·         Can you think creatively and support the development of fundraising ideas?

·         Are you keen to give the best customer service?

·         Can you drive income generation activities that are aligned with the community?

·         Work flexibly, including some weekend and evenings?

·         Do you have previous experience of community fundraising within the charity sector?

If you have the ability to:

·         Communicate well both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people

·         Engage with both large groups but also potentially one-to-one with a bereaved family

·         Adapt to changing priorities and juggle multiple tasks

·         Build relationships, networking within the community to raise funds for the Hospice

Healthcare Assistant – Caring Hands

·         Do you have experience of working within Healthcare or Caring for others?

·         Have you worked alone or in a team within the Community?

·         Can you work flexible hours – days/nights?

If you have the ability to:

·         Provide a consistently high standard of palliative nursing care – keeping up the reputation of the Hospice

·         Sensitively, care for clients and their families in their own homes, respecting the privacy and dignity of the client and their families at all times

·         Communicate well both verbally with your client and their family but also in writing to the Home Care Coordinator/Lead Nurse

Our values and principles of behaviour are key to all we do.  Our plans for the next 5 years to meet our strategic objectives include growth through construction of a new inpatient building, development of our support in the community and increased service on site at the Hospice.

To achieve all this, we need enthusiastic, self-motivated and pro-active people with a desire to care for others, and who are reliable, interested in working in a healthcare setting and share our values.

Growing our Community-based team means we have a number of permanent roles available, full time or part time. Hours include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

You would need to be able to drive/hold a full UK driving licence as a requirement of the role and have business use car insurance (or be prepared to get this).
