Healthcare Assistant  - Caring Hands

(18 hours per week over 7 days) 

· Do you have experience of working within Healthcare or Caring for others?

· Have you worked alone or in a team within the Community?

· Can you work flexible hours – days/evenings

· Do you drive a manual car and hold a full UK manual driving licence/have business car insurance?

​​If you have the ability to:

· Provide a consistently high standard of palliative nursing care – keeping up the reputation of the Hospice

· Sensitively, care for clients and their families in their own homes, respecting the privacy and dignity of the client and their families at all times

· Communicate well both verbally with your client and their family but also in writing to the Home Care Coordinator/Community Services Manager

Growing our Community-based team means we have a number of permanent roles available, full time or part time. Hours include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Digital Marketing Co-ordinator

· Do you have experience of working within the Fundraising (Charity) sector?

· Can you lead on external branding and messaging for campaigns and events to generate income?

· Can you prioritise and manage your time to support an annual calendar of fundraising events?

· Can you communicate in a fun and engaging manner to grow our external Hospice supporters and raise the profile of the Hospice?

​​If you have the ability to:

· Communicate well both verbally and in writing creating engaging internal offline and digital communications

· Work to achieve clearly defined objectives and targets

· Maintain accuracy and confidentiality in all you do

· Meet income targets and KPIs

​​​​​Dr Kershaw's is looking for you!

A major part of the role is liaising with teams across the Hospice and communicating effectively with our external audiences, at all levels, to raise our profile.

Our income is supported by our events which focus on supporter engagement, supporter growth & cultivation, remembrance & fun activities, and awareness raising. This is also vital in this role as our plans for the next 5 years, to meet our strategic objectives, include further growth following the construction of a new Inpatient Unit, to enable us to continue to serve our community.

To achieve all this, we need enthusiastic, self-motivated and pro-active people who are focused, with an attention to detail and who share our values.

This is a full time, permanent role.

Community Services Manager (Band 7)

Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Part Time (30 hours per week) considered

· Do you want to provide specialist leadership and support to our Community Service Teams who care for our patients, who are at the heart of everything we do at the Hospice?

· If you are a Team Leader with a strong “can do” work ethic, registered with the NMC and have management experience/a management qualification and have worked previously within a Community care setting plus you have a full UK driving licence – we are looking for you!

Do you have the ability to:

· Manage community based nurses and HCA’s ensuring we provide a consistently high standard of palliative nursing care – keeping up the reputation of the Hospice

· Work in collaboration with other community services, external organisations and local commissioners to promote and develop Dr Kershaw’s Community Services

· Work as part of a multi professional team, acting as an autonomous practionner, who continues to develop their knowledge base and clinical assessment skills, working within agreed practices and processes

· Use advanced communication skills to establish and maintain effective communication, with a wide range of individuals and groups about sensitive and complex matters

The wellbeing of our staff is key at the Hospice and we provide, a food bank, subsidised meals, counsellor and complementary therapy as well as holding regular Nurse Forums and team social activities, across the Hospice. There is free parking on site and a modern, state of the art in-patient unit, we provide a good work life balance to all our staff, including wellbeing activities and support.

Salary: £43,742 to £50,056 (pro rata) per annum dependent on experience
