Retail Manager

·         Adapt to changing priorities and juggle multiple tasks

·         Problem solve and think creatively

·         Build relationships, working sensitively on behalf of the Hospice

Dr Kershaw’s is an independent Hospice serving the people of Oldham and surrounding districts and a registered charity. At Dr Kershaw’s patients are at the heart of everything we do. Since 1989, our mission has been to add quality to the lives of those with a life limiting illness.

A major part of our income is supported by our retail activity through our Shops. Our plans for the next 5 years to meet our strategic objectives include further growth following the construction of a new In-Patient Unit, and we are looking to take our Shops to the next level and increase our turnover whilst continuing to serve our community.

To achieve all this, we need enthusiastic, self-motivated and pro-active people who are focused, with an attention to detail and who share our values.

This is a permanent role.

Salary: £ 18,870 to £19, 918 pro rata (dependent on experience)

Hours: Full time – 37.5 hours per week (across multiple days)

Community Fundraising Team Leader

· Can you think creatively and support the development of annual fundraising campaigns, events and ideas?

· Are you keen to give the best customer service, cultivating and stewarding third party fundraisers?

· Can you drive income generation activities that are aligned with the community whilst raising awareness of Hospice services?

· Work flexibly, including some weekend and evenings?

·  Do you have previous experience of community fundraising within the charity sector, meeting income targets?

If you have the ability to:

· Develop a clear Community Fundraising Strategy

· Communicate well both through presentations, verbally and in writing with a wide range of people

· Establish relationships through engagement with both large groups but also potentially one-to-one with a bereaved family

· Adapt to changing priorities and juggle multiple tasks

· Build relationships, networking within the community to raise funds for the Hospice

Digital Marketing & Events Co-ordinator

·         Do you have experience of working within the Fundraising (Charity) sector?

·         Can you deliver on supporting both our fundraising events and digital communications here at the Hospice?

·         Can you prioritise and manage your time working on an annual calendar of fundraising events?

·         Can you communicate in a fun and engaging manner to grow our Hospice supporters and raise the profile of the Hospice?

·         Communicate well both verbally and in writing creating engaging digital communications

·         Work to achieve clearly defined objectives and targets

·         Maintain accuracy and confidentiality in all you do

·         Do you have knowledge and understanding of the Corporate market for fundraising?

·         Can you manage a portfolio of existing corporate supporters whilst at the same time securing new corporate supporters?

·         Can you build effective relationships with internal and external senior stakeholders?

·         Do you have experience of soliciting partnerships with an array of corporate supporters, working to meet financial targets?

·         Do you have experience of working within the Charity sector?

If you have the ability to:

·         Communicate well both verbally and in writing with a wide range of people

·         Adapt well to work pressures in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple high competing projects at the same time

·         Maintain accuracy and client confidentiality in all you do

·         Work as both a part of a team and on your own initiative

Healthcare Assistant – Caring Hands

· Do you have experience of working within Healthcare or Caring for others?

· Have you worked alone or in a team within the Community?

· Can you work flexible hours – days/evenings

· Do you drive/hold a full UK manual driving licence?

If you have the ability to:

· Provide a consistently high standard of palliative nursing care – keeping up the reputation of the Hospice

· Sensitively, care for clients and their families in their own homes, respecting the privacy and dignity of the client and their families at all times

·         Communicate well both verbally with your client and their family but also in writing to the Home Care Coordinator/Lead Nurse
