At the end of 2019, work started on the Hospice’s new In-Patient Unit. Our old In-Patient Unit was demolished and foundations were laid for a brand new purpose built and energy efficient unit; providing modernised, private facilities for our patients and their loved ones.
Featuring eight private en-suite rooms along with two twin en-suite rooms and a patients’ lounge for quality family time, the new build will revolutionise patients’ experiences at the Hospice.
Now that the building works are complete, work is starting on the gardens which will be transformed thanks to an incredible legacy left by Hospice supporter, Alice Barrass. Patients and their families will be able to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the grounds; with wheelchair and bed access, quiet seating areas, and a beautiful natural wooded area with a woodland walk. The landscaping is due for completion in Autumn 2021.
