At the end of 2019, work started on the Hospice’s new Inpatient Unit. Our old Inpatient Unit was demolished and foundations were laid for a brand new purpose built and energy efficient unit; providing modernised, private facilities for our patients and their loved ones.
Featuring eight private en-suite rooms along with two twin en-suite rooms and a patients’ lounge for quality family time, the new build will revolutionise patients’ experiences at the Hospice. Our patient rooms have stunning views of the newly landscaped gardens with seating areas and walkways for patients and their families to spend time in.
The gardens have been transformed thanks to an incredible legacy left by Hospice supporter, Alice Barrass. Patients and their families can now enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the grounds; with wheelchair and bed access, and a beautiful natural wooded area with a woodland walk will also be completed by Spring 2023.
