Oldham based, Little Owl Farm has been one of the many businesses impacted by Covid, yet despite their own challenges they are supporting their local Hospice, Dr Kershaw’s. Owned by John Beck and partner, Cindy Bramhall, the farm contacted the Hospice to see how they could help.

With over 30 years history of caring for patients in Oldham, our Hospice has transformed itself from the dated Cottage Hospital building it once was to a modern aged facility offering patients a 21st century home from home in our newly launched £3.5 million In-Patient Unit.

88-year-old, Ada Rushworth had been volunteering at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice for over 12 years when Covid hit. Her plans to finish volunteering at the age of 90, were foiled by the pandemic which fast-tracked her retirement.

Dr Kershaw’s Hospice in Oldham has been nominated for three Nursing Times Awards at the 30th anniversary of The Nursing Times Awards, as well as the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife.

It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Dr Kevin Moore, a kind, dedicated man and much-loved friend and respected colleague to all at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. Dr Moore played an important part in developing the Hospice and its services, practicing for 26 years in a number of different roles and becoming Medical Director in 1994.
