The popular Saddleworth Santa Dash returned on Saturday 4th December, and Dr Kershaw’s were thrilled to be offered 50 places to enable the Hospice to raise vital funds for patient care.
Despite the torrential rain, the spirits of the Hospice’s jolly fundraisers weren’t dampened with each Santa completing their 2k or 5k runs. Jake Dickinson who works for Foresight, a company who provides IT support to Dr Kershaw’s as well as to many other organisations took part in the Santa dash choosing the 5k option, he said: “I took part to support and raise money for the Hospice. My grandma was cared for there, and I now support the team with their IT needs. The day was brilliant, I really enjoyed it and would definitely do it again. It was a great atmosphere and I was happy to raise £340 to support patients at the Hospice.”
Lillie Winterbottom, the Hospice’s Community Engagement Team Leader added: “Thank you to Saddleworth Round Table for gifting us 50 places again. This year’s Santa Dash was a great, festive day out, it was wonderful seeing the community coming together to support Dr Kershaw’s and our patients.”
