The team at Clarksfield business, Chunky Chicken on Lees Road are preparing to hike Mount Snowdon to raise vital funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
The local business who has fundraised for many other causes over the years, selected Dr Kershaw’s as they wanted to support local end-of-life and palliative care, after a youthworker who the team grew up with received Hospice care before he sadly died three years ago.
Chunky Chicken Manager and hike organiser, Idrar Khan, 37 explains: “Hospice care is a cause close to our hearts after our local youthworker, who supported us all so much, was cared for in a Hospice. Dr Kershaw’s stood out to us all as a local charity who needs our support to enable them to provide 24 hour care for those who need it the most. We are looking forward to the hike and are hoping for a nice, clear day as a wet day can make the hike much more difficult!”
The team’s hike of Snowdon will take place on Thursday 29 July, you can support their fundraising for the Hospice by donating in the collection pots on the counter in Chunky Chicken, or by visiting their JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Chunkychickenoldham
