Since the pandemic began, Dr Kershaw’s Hospice has seen a sharp decline in fundraising and donations from businesses, however, we have recently seen more local businesses come together to once again support us.
One such business is Spectrum Brands, more widely recognised for their Household and Pet Care brands including Russell Hobbs, Remington, George Foreman, IAMS, Eukanuba and Tetra. Based in Failsworth, the company have supported Dr Kershaw’s Hospice with staff fundraising activities since 2013.
Donating £2,475 which brings their fundraising total to a staggering £24,000, Office Manager, Jan Dawson spoke proudly of the support their company gives to local charities: “Staff pick two local charities each year and go the extra mile to raise funds for both. We’ve supported Dr Kershaw’s Hospice for many years, it’s a charity that’s very close to the hearts of so many of our team.”
Lillie Winterbottom, Community Engagement Team Leader added: “We have always been able to rely on the support of local businesses to help fund our vital services, so it’s heart-warming to know that as the economy emerges from this terrible pandemic, we can once again join together with companies and their staff.”
