Dr Kershaw’s recently held our first ever Schwartz Round, an initiative which is part of the Hospice’s well-being package for staff, enabling those who attended to discuss the emotional impact of their work within a safe space.
Hospice Director of Clinical Services, Adele Doherty explained: “As an organisation we recognise the work our team do and want to support all our staff, encouraging them to share their experiences and giving them the opportunity to offload the emotional challenges they may face. I was thrilled that so many people attended our first session, it was fantastic and we hope that our staff got a lot out of it. I feel really proud to be part of this exciting well-being initiative at Dr Kershaw’s.”
Aggie Rice, Point of Care Foundation Mentor who is supporting the Hospice with our Schwartz Rounds was also in attendance, she added: “It was a brilliant first round. It was moving, nourishing, connecting, well-lead and well-held. I felt truly privileged to be there.”
