With 1st – 7th June marking National Volunteers’ Week, we took to our social media channels to share messages of appreciation from Hospice staff who rely heavily on the support of volunteers.
National Volunteers’ Week celebrates the contribution of millions across the UK who give up their time to volunteer at organisations who need their support like Dr Kershaw’s.
Our Volunteer Team, Nikki Butterworth and Leanne Gurney kicked the week off with a video thanking the 300 plus volunteers who support the Hospice and its shops, they said: “We would like to express our sincere thanks to all our volunteer supporters. We absolutely couldn’t do it without you, from our volunteers in the shops, those who support on our In-Patient Unit and even those who support behind the scenes in the offices. Your dedication has such an impact and it all goes towards providing the best patient care possible. Thank you!”
Alison Taylor, our Retail Area Manager said: “I just want to say thank you so much to all our volunteers, your loyalty and dedication is just amazing!’’
Joanne Sloan, our Chief Executive ended the week of celebration with: “As Volunteers’ Week draws to a close, I do hope you have had a sense of how your contributions are valued and appreciated throughout the whole of the Hospice community. We truly could not provide the services that we do without your help!’’
