Joining Dr Kershaw’s in the middle of the pandemic, HR Advisor, Mandi Halton, decided to take on the Land’s End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) 874 mile challenge to raise funds for our Hospice, after completing her first fundraiser in 2020 by swapping Christmas cards for donations.
Since 1st January, Mandi took part in her own personal walking challenge, every day come rain or shine, putting in the miles both at home on a treadmill, as well as in the great outdoors. Planning to complete the challenge by the time the year is out, in just six months Mandi has already smashed her 874 mile goal, raising over £800 so far to support patient care at Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
Speaking of completing her epic challenge, Mandi said: “I’m thrilled to have completed this challenge and that my daily miles will make a difference for others. I wanted a challenge to help keep me physically and mentally healthy in the middle of the pandemic. I chose to do my challenge after seeing firsthand the incredible work that our doctors, nurses and health care assistants do, and knowing that the Hospice, even more so in the pandemic relies on donations and fundraisers to be able to provide care for the many patients who need support across the community. Thank you to everyone who has supported me with kind words of encouragement and by sponsoring me, every penny helps our Hospice!”
