Registered charity, Life for a Life Memorial Forests, first started supporting Dr Kershaw’s when they planted the memorial forest which is part of the grounds over 11 years ago, and surprised the Hospice team recently with a generous donation of a lawnmower.
Phil Kersh, Director of Operations at Life for a Life Memorial Forests said: “We have looked after the Hospice grounds for some time now and know what a huge contribution the volunteer gardeners make so we wanted to help them, to help others by donating the lawnmower.”
The not for profit charity who still maintain the Hospice’s grounds, also made a donation of £1,500 at the end of last year, supporting the Hospice’s ‘Furnish with Love’ Appeal which raised funds to purchase furniture for the new in-patient family lounge.
Dr Kershaw’s Facility Officer, Paul Barnes added: “The Life for a Life team make a huge difference to so many. They maintain our grounds and at the same time empower our volunteers to help too.”
