For over twelve years, The Big White Charity Van has been a key part of the Oldham community with many donating and purchasing furniture items from them with each purchase supporting charities across the borough.
Closing their doors for the very last time recently, The Big White Charity Van has raised almost £100,000 to support Dr Kershaw’s Hospice’s patients and their loved ones.
Rebecca Bentham, Director of Income Development at the Hospice said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Charlie and the team at The Big White Charity Van for their support over the past 12 years. The Big White Charity Van has been supplying the community of Oldham with good-quality second-hand furniture whilst also donating a percentage of the profits to local charities, including Dr Kershaw's Hospice. Over the past 12 years, the team at the Big White Charity Van have raised over £95,000 for Dr Kershaw's Hospice, an incredible figure which has helped us to support so many patients and families across our borough. Thank you for your support!”
Charlie from The Big White Charity Van added: "We chose to support Dr Kershaw’s as most of our family have been affected by cancer and the Hospice is at the heart of Oldham. A very worthy charity to help.”
