To mark the first anniversary of the passing of his dad, ‘Stormin’ Norman, William ‘Wilbur‘ Crangle wanted to do something special in his memory and chose to support Dr Kershaw’s with a fundraising day to remember at The Ace Pub, Fitton Hill.
The day which took place at the end of September raised an incredible £5,315 for patient care at the Hospice and was organised by Hospice supporter, Paul Nuttall who was approached by the family to help plan and manage the day, he said; “The day was fantastic, we had raffles, an auction, penalty shoot outs, music, a BBQ and more! We didn’t expect to raise so much and were thrilled to raise over £5,000!”
Dr Kershaw’s Community Engagement Team Leader, Lillie Winterbottom added: “Our thanks goes to the whole community with special best wishes to Wilbur and his wife Samantha, Paul and Debbie Nuttall and of course Rose and Scott, landlord and landlady at The Ace. What a fantastic team and a wonderful community pub!”
