Our Catering Team recently had an unannounced visit from the Oldham Council Environmental Health Department, and they passed with flying colours, being awarded the top hygiene rating of five for their excellent standards.
Our Catering Manager, Gail Robertshaw said: “Hygiene and food safety is paramount in our kitchen, and once again being awarded the top mark of 5 from the food safety/food standard agency during their recent inspection makes us all very proud. To quote a comment on the report, we have ‘Excellent Standards,’ to keep these excellent standards takes team work, so it goes without saying that I am very proud of our Catering Team!”
Our Catering Team plan out all of the meals served across the Hospice, for patients, family members and staff, coming up with new meal ideas and working hard to prepare nutritional home cooked meals.
Gail added: “A lot of my role is based around ensuring that each patient has the right nutritional diet. It is so important that we simplify the meal choices for our patients and be mindful of the fact that many may be too poorly to eat big hearty meals, and may be happier with smaller comfort foods.”
