With Trustees’ Week taking place this week, the team of ten Dr Kershaw’s Trustees decided to embrace the national week which celebrates the role of Trustees, to enable staff members to find out more about them, and to give staff across the organisation the opportunity to ask any questions to the Board members.
Mirriam Lawton, Hospice Chair of the Board of Trustees and former Deputy Chief Executive of Tameside MBC said: “Our role as Hospice Trustees is mostly backstage, as many of us have full-time roles and support in our own time at board meetings. It’s important for us to see the day-to-day running of the Hospice and to meet the key people who make a difference to so many patients and families across the community. The week gave each Trustee the opportunity to tell staff at the Hospice more about them, with staff from across the organisation being able to ask us questions about our roles and the operational side of the Hospice. I can speak for all the Trustees’ when I say we are very much looking forward to continuing more activities with staff at every level of the organisation, so that they can get to know us better and vice versa.”
