With Dr Kershaw’s launching recently their Summer Appeal, Rose to Remember, the Hospice’s Director of Income Development and Marketing, Rebecca Bentham has shared why she is dedicating a rose: "Ten years ago, very suddenly and unexpectedly, I lost my brother. At the time a friend bought me a rose bush for my garden to remember him by, which was such a lovely gesture. Unfortunately, when I moved house I was unable to take the plant with me, so when I saw the Rose to Remember Campaign I felt this was the perfect way to replace the plant and support other families. My Rose to Remember will take pride of place in my garden and it will last forever, ensuring that every time I see it I will think of my brother and remember my fond memories of us together."
Each rose plaque dedication costs just £5 and will enable more patients and their families across the community to receive specialist care and support from the Hospice. For each dedication, a bespoke designed rose plaque will be on display at the Rose to Remember Open Garden Day on Saturday 3rd July, 11am – 3pm. Dedications over £25, will also receive a Rose to Remember pin badge.
